Comedic Takes on the Bush Administration
"Yesterday the Bush administration announced a new plan to crack down on the finances of terrorists. I think this could work. If Bush is half as successful hurting the finances of terrorists as he is the finances of ordinary Americans I would not want to be in their shoes." -Jay Leno
"In his latest campaign commercial President Bush talks about times of change. If he thinks these times are changing, wait 'til November." -Jay Leno
"President Bush's campaign is spending $100 million in negative TV ads against John Kerry. Isn't that a bit much? I mean, he only offered like $25 million to get Saddam Hussein." —Jay Leno
"President Bush has unveiled his first campaign commercial focusing on his accomplishments. That's why it's only a 60 second spot." -Jay Leno
"President Bush has just one question for the American voters: Is the rich person you're working for better off now than they were 4 years ago?" -Jay Leno
"President Bush was in Los Angeles yesterday where he announced his new campaign theme. Safer, stronger and tested. Isn't that a condom ad?" Jay Leno
"Political experts say this whole election will come down to a handful of swing voters. You know what a swing voter is? Someone who was against the war in Iraq but has a job at Halliburton." -Jay Leno
"I like being out of office. ... I get to talk to people the way they talked to me for 30 years. It's a hoot." -Bill Clinton
"It is starting to look more and more like the terrorist attack in Spain was the work of al Qaeda and today President Bush called the Prime Minister of Spain to offer his condolences and said 'If it makes you feel any better we will be happy to attack a country that had nothing to do with it.'" —Bill Maher
Bill Maher: "For some reason, the two words this president just can't seem to say are "sorry' and "nuclear.' "
David Letterman: "On Meet the Press, President Bush said that Iraq could've had nuculer weapons. Or even worse, nuclear weapons."
"President Bush has two daughters, They may work on their father's presidential campaign after they get out of college. This is a pretty good move because in this economy they won't be able to find real jobs."- David Letterman

PEACE
From EmissaryofLight.com
Please join James Twyman, along with spiritual leaders
from around the world, in an International Peace Vigil
on March 20th (the one year anniversary of the
beginning of the war in Iraq). James has invited many
spiritual leaders from different religious traditions to
join him in Baghdad for a ceremony at Iraq's National
Theater. Millions of people will join in the ceremony
wherever they are in the world by focusing their
hearts and minds on peace for one hour. Please
share this information with everyone you know to
increase the impact of this worldwide phenomenon.
Together we can create a field of energy that will
shift the tide of the current violence, fulfilling the
promise of peace in Iraq and the whole world.
PLEASE JOIN THESE SPIRITUAL LEADERS BY
OFFERING YOUR OWN PRAYERS OF PEACE ON
MARCH 20TH, AT 12 NOON NEW YORK TIME
(5pm GMT). (Track the progress of the group by
going to www.emissaryoflight.com)
If you choose, here is a prayer you can recite, either
alone or in a group, as a way of initiating the energy:
"I am an Emissary of Light NOW, and I claim the world
that was intended for us from the beginning of time.
I claim peace this moment, and I feel its presence in
the life of all beings everywhere. I acknowledge that
God's Light shines through me now, and I use that
Light to heal and bless, allowing a New World to be
made manifest. I do this because it is in my power to
do so, given to me by God. Peace Prevails NOW
because we claim that it is so."
The effect of having hundreds of thousands of people
saying this prayer at the same time will be dramatic.
Feel it deep within your heart, with as much emotion
as you can. Then connect with all the others from
around the world who are joining you in this vigil. Know
that we are working with one heart, one mind. If possible,
try to hold this vision and this feeling for one hour.
And please pray for the safety of James and the other
leaders. You can track their progress by going to
www.emissaryoflight.com. James will be sending recordings
from his satellite phone, as well as pictures, every day if
possible. You will be able to access these messages
through the help of newthoughtbroadcasting.com.
Once again, please pass this to everyone on your own
list, and thank you for joining us in this important project.

Beloved Friends,
Final preparations are being made for our journey to Iraq, which
promises to be profoundly important. Many of you have written
to us or called asking if you could help support this project with
a smaller donation. (We had originally asked for people to sponsor
one of the spiritual leaders, a cost of around $4000 each.) If you
would like to make a smaller donation, we would be very grateful.
Simply go to www.emissaryoflight.com and click on the peace vigil
link on the right. At the bottom of that page you'll see another
link for donations. This is a great way to feel like an essential part
of this important project. Every little bit will help. Thank you.

PRAYING PEACE AROUND THE WORLD
Journey to Baghdad
On March 20th, the one year anniversary of the beginning
of the war in Iraq, James Twyman, along with spiritual and
aboriginal leaders from around the world, will gather at the
National Theater in Baghdad to offer prayers and ceremonies
of peace for the world. Representatives include a Native
American chief, a Mayan elder, an African woman shaman,
and a Russian shaman. Leaders from the major religions in
Iraq will also be represented, as well as at least one Indigo
child representing the children of the world.
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE E-MAIL. WE NEED YOUR HELP
TO MAKE THIS VISION A REALITY.
This gathering is one of the most important and comprehensive
peace celebrations in history, and you'll be able to track the
progress of the leaders via the Internet as they travel to and
from Iraq.
WHY IS THIS GATHERING TAKING PLACE IN IRAQ?
"Turning on a flashlight in the middle of the
day has little if any effect, but when it shines in the darkness
it becomes truly useful." -James Twyman
Our intent is to demonstrate that the problems of the world
that lead to war are not political problems, but are spiritual in
nature. Therefore, they require a spiritual solution. Iraq is
currently the most volatile place on earth, and it is here that
the greatest opportunity can be found. We have no political
agenda, but are devoted to showing the power of prayer and
massive focused intent.
PLEASE JOIN THESE SPIRITUAL LEADERS BY OFFERING YOUR
OWN PRAYERS OF PEACE ON MARCH 20TH, AT 12 NOON NEW
YORK TIME (5pm GMT).
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The cost of this project is nearly $50,000. We are looking for
a group of dedicated individuals to sponsor the spiritual leaders
who will be attending this peace gathering. (The cost for each
person is between $4000 and $5000.) If you're willing to offer
either a full or half sponsorship, please call our office at
(541) 482-5941. Thank you in advance.
We will continue to send updates as the beginning of the journey
approaches. Thank you for passing this on to everyone on
your personal e-mail lists.

A SHORT, BLOODY MONTH
While the U.S. media has been distracted by Bush's sudden
interest in gay marriage, the Iraq war has taken a decidedly
bloody turn. In four weeks at least 405 civilians have
died in massive bombings. In the past 30 days there also
have been three oil pipeline bombings and at least one fuel
convoy attack. These are on top of more than 20 daily attacks
on coalition forces. Military sources now estimate more than
300 Iraqi police have been killed since the first of the year.
18,000 more National Guard members have been put on
alert ahead of a planned Pentagon offensive to "find Osama bin Laden."
"Spring's approach will provide weather more
conducive to operations against al Qaeda and Taliban
fighters along the Pakistan-Afghan border," writes Peter
Brookes, a senior fellow for National Security at the
conservative Heritage Foundation. Read a summary of the
